Herbalife Helps Establish the First Casa Herbalife Program in El Paso

The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), dedicated to improving children's lives by helping organizations provide healthy nutrition to vulnerable youth, announced a $20,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of El Paso, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

"We are so honored to receive this donation to establish the first Casa Herbalife in this part of Texas,” said Dr. Joseph Villescas, Chief Executive Officer, Boys & Girls Club of El Paso. “Our goal at the Boys & Girls Club of El Paso is to create an environment where our children feel safe and have access to healthy living values that will serve them well in adulthood. This donation is significant because it will help us build that environment.”

The donation will support efforts to implement a healthy curriculum for El Paso youth to better understand nutrition and the impact diet has on overall well-being. Through fun and engaging learning activities, like healthy cooking classes, the funds will teach 150 youth, aged 6-13, about the benefits of developing healthy habits, including eating smart and being physically active.

“As part of an ongoing effort to reduce obesity in El Paso, it is imperative that we educate our youth about the importance of good nutrition,” said El Paso Councilwoman, Cortney Niland. “The support of the Herbalife Family Foundation will allow the Boys & Girls Club of El Paso to continue to teach our youth about the impact good nutrition can have and ways they can live a more healthy, active life.”

The Casa Herbalife Program was established in 2005 to help bring good nutrition to children living in orphanages, using after school centers, and other non-profit facilities around the world tasked with helping underserved young people. The program provides over $2.3 million in funding and volunteer assistance each year to more than 100 organizations worldwide. These funds bring nutrition to more than 100,000 children in 50 countries on a daily basis.
